To measure poverty, BPS uses the concept of ability to meet basic needs (basic needs approach). With this approach, poverty is seen as an inability on the economic side to meet basic food and non-food needs as measured by expenditure. So the poor population is the population that has an average monthly per capita expenditure under the poverty line.
To get poverty data, the Central Statistics Agency conducts a Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) twice a year, in March and September. In order to improve the quality of Susenas officers, the BPS of Badung Regency held an event to Increase the Capacity of Susenas Officers in the Context of Understanding Poverty Indicators on Friday, November 29, 2019. Located in the Meeting Room of the BPS Office in Badung Regency with a total of 25 participants.
