Galungan and Kuningan Days are Hindu religious holidays that fall every 6 months. The Hindus install Penjor the day before Galungan or precisely on the day called Penampahan Galungan. Installing Penjor on Galungan Day which means as a form of devotion and gratitude to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa for all the prosperity and welfare that He has given.

After 10 days after Galungan Day, Hindus also celebrate Kuningan Day. On this Kuningan Day, we as God's creatures must be able to introspect and promise to make ourselves better and also be able to defeat the Adharma nature that is in us, Svaha.
