Abstract

The Farmers Exchange Rate Index (NTP) of Bali Province in May 2019 was recorded to decrease by -0.07 percent, from 103.45 in April 2019, to 103.37. In terms of the index received by farmers (It), there was a decline as deep as -0.38 percent while the index paid by farmers (Ib) was recorded to fall as deep as -0.30 percent.


According to the sub-sector, the decline in the NTP index in May 2019 was recorded in the two subsectors, namely the smallholder plantation sub-sector -1.76 percent and the food subsector -0.30 percent. Meanwhile, the horticulture, fisheries and livestock sub-sector recorded an increase of 0.97 percent, 0.89 percent and 0.33 percent respectively.


In May 2019, Bali Province experienced rural deflation of -0.39 percent. This is different from the national condition which was recorded to experience rural inflation of 0.59 percent.


Of the 33 provinces observed in the calculation of the household consumption index in May 2019, there were 30 provinces experiencing inflation and only 3 provinces recorded experiencing deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Gorontalo Province reaching 1.85 percent, and the lowest was recorded in East Nusa Tenggara Province by 0.35 percent. Meanwhile, Bali, Yogyakarta and East Java provinces experienced deflation of -0.39 percent, -0.33 percent and -0.001 percent respectively.
