Abstract

In November 2019 Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.22 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI 2012 = 100) of 145.34. The calendar year inflation rate was recorded at 2.15 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2019 against November 2018 or YoY) was as high as 3.01 percent.


Inflation (m to m) is indicated by an increase in the index in five expenditure groups namely group V (health) as high as 0.52 percent; group I (food ingredients) as high as 0.42 percent; group VII (transport, communication and financial services) as high as 0.24 percent; group II (processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco) as high as 0.22 percent; group IV (clothing) as high as 0.12 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity and fuel) as high as 0.02 percent. Whereas for group VI (education, recreation, and sports) there was no change in the index, but there were subgroups that experienced inflation and deflation.


Commodities recorded contributing to or contributing to inflation in November 2019 include broiler chicken meat, beans, cucumbers, shallots, clove cigarettes, vegetable tomatoes, cooking oil, bananas, lubricants / oil, garlic, bottled water, and spinach.


From 82 CPI cities, 57 cities experienced inflation and 25 cities experienced deflation. the highest inflation was recorded in Manado City (North Sulawesi) as high as 3.30 percent while the lowest inflation was recorded in Malang City (East Java) as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan City (Bangka Belitung) as deep as -1.06 percent while the shallow deflation was recorded in Denpasar City (Bali) and Batam City (Riau Islands) each as deep as -0.01 percent. If ranked from the highest inflation, then Singaraja ranks 37th out of 57 cities experiencing inflation.
