Abstract
In March 2021, Singaraja City was recorded to experience inflation as high as 0.81 percent with the Consumer Price Index (base year 2018 = 100) of 108.31. The inflation rate for the calendar year March 2021 is as high as 1.99 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2021 against March 2020 or YoY) was recorded as high as 2.94 percent.
Four expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) as high as 2.40 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel), as high as 0.13 percent; group IV (equipment, tools, and household routine maintenance) as high as 0.12 percent; and group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) as high as 0.09 percent. Meanwhile, two other expenditure groups recorded deflation, namely group VII (information, communication and financial services) at 0.43 percent; and group XI (personal care and other services) at 0.36 percent. Five other expenditure groups recorded that the index did not change or were stagnant, namely, group II (clothing and footwear), group V (health), group VI (transportation), group IX (education), and group X (provision of food and beverages / restaurants)
Commodities recorded as contributing to inflation in March 2021 include cayenne pepper, eggplant, bananas, shallots, oranges, concrete iron, preserved cobs, filter clove cigarettes, apples, wet shrimp, tuna fish / ambu-ambu, bean sprouts / sprouts. , and kidney beans / joglo.
Of the 90 CPI cities, 58 cities experienced inflation and 32 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Jayapura (Papua) as high as 1.07 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded in Tangerang (Banten) and in Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan) as high as 0.01 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Bau-Bau (Southeast Sulawesi) at 0.99 percent, while the lowest deflation was recorded in Palopo (South Sulawesi) at 0.01 percent. If sorted from highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 4th out of 58 cities experiencing inflation.
