In November 2023, the city of Denpasar was recorded as experiencing inflation as high as 0.33 percent as indicated by an increase in the Consumer Price Index (2018 base year = 100) from 115.10 in October to 115.48 in November 2023. Meanwhile, the inflation rate for the calendar year (2023). to date/ytd) and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2023 to November 2022 or year on year/yoy) was recorded as high as 2.04 percent and 2.51 percent.
Of the eleven expenditure groups, six expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group I (food, beverages and tobacco) at 1.42 percent, group XI (personal care and other services) at 0.44 percent, group (provision of food and drinks/restaurants) by 0.14 percent, group VIII (recreation, sports and culture) by 0.10 percent, group III (housing, water, electricity and household fuel) by 0.03 percent , and group VII (information, communication and financial services) at 0.03 percent. Four other groups recorded experiencing deflation, namely group VI (transportation) at -0.33 percent, group V (health) at -0.27 percent, group IV (equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance) at -0.21 percent , and group II (clothing and footwear) was -0.17 percent. Meanwhile, group IX (education) recorded no change in index or was recorded as stagnant.
Of the 90 cities monitored by national inflation, 79 cities experienced inflation and 11 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Bandar Lampung (Lampung) at 1.05 percent, while the deepest deflation was recorded in Tual (Maluku) with deflation as deep as 0.51 percent. If ranked by highest inflation, Denpasar City, with inflation as high as 0.33 percent, still ranks 47th out of 79 cities experiencing inflation.
