The agricultural sector, especially the livestock sub-sector, is one of the sub-sectors that contributes to the national economy and is able to absorb labor. Therefore, detailed, accurate, and integrated data is needed in order to obtain accurate and useful information in making various decisions and policies by the government related to economic conditions.
The survey of Livestock and Slaughterhouse Companies (RPH)/Slaughterhouses (TPH) is intended to provide livestock data that can be used by policy makers in the livestock sector, including meat, eggs and milk. The purpose of this survey is to obtain the number of cattle slaughtered, meat production, cost structure, processing and marketing as well as added value that can be used in the calculation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the calculation of the supply-demand of meat.
The output of this survey is the publication of livestock slaughter statistics, the publication of statistics for dairy cattle companies, the publication of statistics for large and small livestock breeding companies and the publication of statistics for poultry farming companies.
Slaughter of cattle occurs in all provinces in Indonesia. When compared to the previous year, in 2020 the number of cattle slaughtered decreased throughout the quarter. The highest decline occurred in the second quarter of -19.46 percent; then followed by the third quarter of -15.55 percent; fourth quarter of -10.57 percent; and the first quarter of -4.53 percent.
