Abstract

In January 2023 Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.95 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 114.85. The January 2023 calendar year inflation rate equals January 2023 inflation as high as 0.95 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (January 2023 against January 2022 or YoY) was recorded as high as 4.95 percent.

Seven expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group VIII (recreation, sports and culture) as high as 2.38 percent; group I (food, drink and tobacco) as high as 1.90 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 1.51 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.65 percent; group IV (equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance) as high as 0.64 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.11 percent; and group X (providing food and beverages/restaurants) as high as 0.06 percent. One group experienced deflation, namely group VI (transportation) as deep as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, three other expenditure groups did not experience changes in index or stagnation, namely group V (health); group VII (information, communication and financial services); and group IX (education).

Of the 90 CPI cities, 80 cities experienced inflation and 10 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Gunungsitoli City (North Sumatra) as high as 1.87 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded in Manokwari City (West Papua) as high as 0.03 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Timika City (Papua) as deep as 0.60 percent while the shallowest deflation was recorded in Tanjung Selor City (North Kalimantan) as deep as 0.04 percent. If sorted from the highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 10th out of 80 cities experiencing inflation.
