On June 22, 2022, at the Office of the Vice Regent of Badung Regency, a meeting of the Regional Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPKD) of Badung Regency was held to discuss the poverty reduction program agenda to achieve the poverty rate target of 1.80% in 2024. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Regent of Badung Regency, by first conveying the macro of Badung Regency by the Head of Bappeda of Badung Regency which includes the human economic growth rate, figures and the final figure of the poverty rate.
The Deputy Regent in his direction conveyed that the programs that were compiled were truly programs that targeted the poor who already had data based on addresses in the form of the Family Hope Program (PKH) managed by the Social Service. The macro poverty rate released by BPS does not only cover the KTP population, but also the non-KTP Badung population. By targeting PKH, it is hoped that the element of poverty at the population level with ID cards in Badung Regency can be eradicated.
The head of the BPS for Badung Regency further said that the target for overcoming the poor could refer to the characteristics of the poor population in Badung Regency, which will reach 2.62% in 2021. For education and housing, data shows that the poor are no longer experiencing problems. The literacy rate, school enrollment rate, and use of latrines for housing have reached almost 100%. The problem among the poor is that of all poor people there are as many as 47% who still do not have a job (unemployed). Thus, the Head of BPS for Badung Regency suggested that the provision of employment opportunities, the provision of a job fair that might be in accordance with the resources of the poor, could be a solution, which does not only apply to residents of Badung ID cards, but also to the poor people without Badung ID cards.
Hopefully, the poverty of Badung Regency can approach the target number that has been set, it can even be eradicated.
